Ugh.
The only mail I got today was two credit card offers from other banks, and a “special membership” offer from my bank. I signed up for that opt-out thing online, but that website said it could take months before I stop getting offers.
I am certain there is very little I can do to not get offers from companies I have accounts with. At least I have paperless billing from just about everyone, which over all of my services probably cuts 20 or 30 pages and 10 or so envelopes (plus stamps! and address labels!) out of my life every month.
Is there some way to get spam filtering set up at the post office? I know that doesn’t stop the junk mail from getting produced, which would be ideal, but at least I wouldn’t have to deal with it.
I hate the fact that in six and a half months of living here, I have generated three very full brown paper grocery bags of paper recycling, at least 90% of which is junk mail. I’m trying to be a more environmentally conscious, conservation-oriented person, and yet just by existing I generate this huge amount of waste.
Nurd Up!
