I went to church at UniLu today, and after the service just met people. Katie S., Class of 2002 and former SPC member, is a member there, so she and Celia and I talked briefly about life after Swat.
Then when talking to Kate, the Young Adult programs leader, I met Mike, who coincidentally also works at BBN, although in the Networking department. On top of that, he went to grad school at UC-Boulder with Samir (possibly Sameer, haven’t seen it spelled yet), who will be my sort-of supervisor beginning next month when he starts work at BBN.
I also got info about joining the church choir, which meets Thursday evenings. I plan to start going to rehearsals this week. I’mnot sure where I’ll fit dinner in; maybe I’ll leave work a little early on Thursdays and make it up the rest of the week.
I also met Pastor Engquist, who isw the Lutheran student minister at BU, and who knows my sister through that. Speaking of people who know my sister, one of the people in the text group at BBN, Linnaea, TAed my sister’s intro Linguistics class at BU.
All sorts of Six Degrees action going on here, although in this case it’s more like Two Degrees. Still, it’s funny how many ways we can all be connected.
