  • LJ Weirdness

Apparently, my last two entries, and probably this one as well, are only showing up on people’s friends pages, but not in my journal entries. Any thoughts as to what might be causing this?

  • The Silence of the Lambs

Creepy. Just… creepy. But very well done. Anthony Hopkins really pulled off the role, and I’d say that that’s pretty damn hard. However, not typically a movie I’d choose to see. I’m not a fan of disturbing movies, but this one was artfully done. I didn’t know that Howard Shore did the music; there were…

  • A Beach Alight

I left Hicks this evening just in time to get rained on. As I walked by Parrish Beach, I saw many tiny lights in the grass. The storm front rolling in brought the fireflies out early, because of the darkening sky. To my engineer brain, it looked like an array of LEDs, blinking in some…

  • Shelling out $$$

I’ve just paid for an LJ account for the next year – I figure I’ll definitely keep it through gradumutation. It is effectively replacing my MacAddict subscription, financially speaking. Expect more user icons shortly, but for now, bask in the glory that is my new super-geeky journal format.

  • I’m a Bad Kid

What circle of hell is reserved for people who unintentionally serve meat to vegetarians? This week I made my Grandma’s Imitation Chow Mein hotdish recipe, and it turned out really well. I also made a vegetarian version that replaced the ground beef with diced portobello mushrooms. Both versions turned out really well, and everybody liked…

  • eBay Results

In case anyone’s curious, the used copy of RoboRally whose price I bid up to $30 on eBay ended up selling for $81 yesterday! I mean, sure, it’s a rare game… but I hope the guy who bought it is some sort of collector, because that much money is waaay too much to pay for…

  • An Appeal for Art

So after playing with FireWorks last night for a couple of hours, I have quickly come to the realization that transferring an image from my mind’s eye to PNG format is a highly lossy process. Would anyone out there who is more artistically inclined be interested in creating some icons for my RoboRally project? There’s…

  • AAAAAGGGHHHH!!!

I finally got my hands on the Enterprise season finale – only to find that the file truncated the last few minutes of the show! Cliffhanger… too… powerful… /me goes to read Quicksilver before The Confusion arrives.

  • A RoboRally Question

What should I use for the resolution of the images for the elements on the individual board tiles? My first thought is 128×128, but only because that’s a medium square size, and it’s the same size as OS X icons… thoughts?

  • RoboRally Project Status

Bad idea: drinking an iced coffee with at least two espresso shots in it (I didn’t count, I just poured) after dinner, at roughly 10:00pm. On a related note, I also thoroughly enjoyed the Yale House’s home brewed beer, courtesy of Sean. On a further related note, I successfully made my grandmother’s Imitation Chow Mein…
